The motorcyclist involved in the accident that occurred this afternoon on the road from Stintino to the hamlet of Pozzo San Nicola is hospitalized with a reserved prognosis in the Emergency Medicine department of the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari. The man, a 55-year-old originally from Ivrea (Turin), but a long-time resident in the tourist village neighborhood , was riding his BMW 250 along the SP 34, when at kilometer 19, he went off the road, ended up on the ditch, and hit the kerb at the entrance to a rural road. The man was thrown onto the asphalt after a flight of a few meters .

In the fall he suffered a head and chest trauma with respiratory failure and a fractured knee . The 118 health workers who arrived on site, after having stabilized him, handed him over to the medical team of the helicopter rescue for immediate transport to the civil hospital of Sassari. On the road were numerous pieces of the bodywork of the BMW 250 destroyed in the impact . On site were the firefighters who supported the rescue and secured the area. Also present were the local police of Stintino for traffic and the carabinieri of Palmadula.
