He allegedly attacked multiple times, targeting young women (including minors) and tourists, taking advantage of moments of vulnerability, and then quickly disappearing after the assault. This escalation of incidents had caused considerable alarm in Alghero in recent months and has now led to the arrest of a young man, placed under house arrest with an electronic tag after being held responsible for several incidents of sexual violence.

The precautionary order, executed on the morning of Wednesday, May 13, by police station staff and Carabinieri officers from the Alghero branch, was issued by the Sassari Court following a comprehensive investigative effort coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation began following a serious incident involving a minor in March. According to investigators' reconstruction, the young man approached the girl, took her cell phone, and then groped her and engaged in explicit sexual acts. Technical tests and a subsequent house search, during which the clothing used during the incident was found, allowed investigators to gather serious evidence of guilt.

Further investigations conducted by the military have also linked the same man to two other incidents that occurred between the end of 2025 and last March, involving other unfortunate women. In all cases, the alleged perpetrator allegedly acted in a similar manner: taking advantage of favorable situations to grope and insult the victims before fleeing. Officers from the Alghero Police Station also identified the young man as responsible for a recent incident that occurred just last weekend on the Alghero coast, involving a Korean tourist who was sexually assaulted while she was sunbathing with her sister. After being located, the young man was taken to his home, where he will remain under house arrest with an electronic bracelet, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
