The former corporal of the Sassari Brigade Federico Boi was awarded the gold medal for the victims of terrorism on the occasion of the celebrations for the Day of National Unity and the Day of the Armed Forces, held in the Parco delle Rimembranze in Cagliari .

The former soldier from Arixi , a small fraction of Senorbì , is among the survivors of the massacre of 12 November 2003 in the Nassiriya Maestral base (in Iraq), in one of the most serious attacks on the Italian army that killed 28 lives: 9 Iraqis and 19 Italians.

Federico Boi, who was 21 at the time, was injured in the vile attack and saw two people die in front of him. A few years ago he left the Army .

"The entire Senorbian community feels honored for the important honor assigned to our fellow citizen", said the mayor of Senorbì Alessandro Pireddu who attended the ceremony at the invitation of the Prefect of Cagliari Gianfranco Tomao as representative of the municipal administration and of the entire community of the center of Trexenta.
