They created fake websites, taking advantage of the name and business name of unwitting companies in the sector, and advertised the sale of pellets at extremely advantageous prices (taking advantage of the historical moment of particular shortage).
The 200 thousand euro scam was discovered thanks to an investigative activity by the Seneghe Carabinieri Station, resulting from two complaints.
Once the price was agreed, the scammers had the goods paid by bank transfers, without ever sending what was purchased. 40 people reported to the Public Prosecutor of Santa Maria Capua Vetere for aggravated and continued fraud.
Therefore, the seizure and contextual blackout of 30 websites was requested.
