It was September 28, 1997, when Don Gigi Pisano took office in the parish of Sant'Anna di Selegas, yesterday the day of saying goodbye arrived after 26 years and two months. Don Gigi is thus the longest-serving parish priest serving the Seleghese community, he surpassed Don Antonio Mocci by 42 days.

There are many activities that the volcanic priest has carried out in his apostolate, there are many working groups following him and many are the works carried out for the restoration of all the works of art in the parish, but above all the renovation of the parish premises and also the reopening of the churches of Santa Vitalia and Sant'Elia. “Selegas will be forever grateful to him,” said mayor Alessio Piras. In these 26 years Don Gigi has collaborated with four mayors who have alternated over time.

Don Gigi's nomination of San Gioacchino as co-patron must be acknowledged; since 28 December 2002 the parish of Selegas has been named after Sant'Anna and San Gioacchino. During the greetings, the packed church, with the presence of representatives of the municipal administration, there were moments of emotion. Don Gigi had to interrupt his speech several times: the community in turn responded with great and moving participation.

After the Eucharistic celebration the population gathered in the parish hall for the small farewell party. On Saturday 2 December the parish community of Selegas will accompany Don Gigi to the new parish of Villamar. After 56 years Selegas will relive the presentation of his parish priest to the new parishioners: the last two predecessors left Selegas without going to another parish.
