The fire that broke out yesterday in the mountain of car tires near state road 387 in the countryside of Selargius has regained strength this morning and then again in the early afternoon. There is no shortage of inconvenience for motorists too: the Fire Brigade is once again operating on the spot with smoke rising from the large crater that forced the firefighters to work very hard yesterday.
The fire affected a 2500 square meter tire landfill causing serious damage to the environment.
Meanwhile, the investigations of the Selargius local police are continuing in an attempt to trace the arsonists who set fire to the pile of tires yesterday afternoon, but also to verify their origin. The investigation is coordinated by Lieutenant Colonel Marco Cantori: several people have been questioned. In the last few hours, two other landfills have also been identified and should be seized.
Mobilization also by the Municipality in an attempt to stem a phenomenon that is certainly worrying. In the past, even recently, the same Municipality has intervened by reclaiming several landfills.
