Simona Angela Putzu, 36 years old, a true Selargina native, and Marco Sarritzu , 42 years old, originally from Quartu: they are the future spouses of the new edition of the Antico sposalizio selargino , ready to swear eternal love to each other on September 14th accompanied by their two children: Leonardo, 9 years old, and Angelica, three years old.

"They actually don't know anything yet, they'll probably find out during today's news," joke Simona and Marco, who are part of the local folk group and who this year will also celebrate the tenth anniversary of their civil union.

"It will be a double emotion for us. I have been very attached to our traditions, ever since I was a child. Maybe I was the one who passed my passion on to Marco ," says Simona. And it is a continuous exchange of glances full of joy, complicity, love and also a pinch of embarrassment: "We still have to get used to cameras and interviews," they say almost apologetically. But in reality they seem very ready.

This morning the official presentation in the premises of the former Casa Cara , the subject of a major redevelopment project by the Municipality and destined to become a large cultural center and home to the Ecomuseum of the landscape. The mayor Gigi Concu will be hosting the event: «As always, it is a pleasure and a great honor to be able to accompany two young people along this path that demonstrates the strong attachment to tradition and represents one of the most important pages in the history of our Community. Thanks to Simona and Marco and thanks to the Pro Loco for their invaluable and fundamental work».

The word goes to Sara Pilia, Councilor for Culture and Tourism : «The Ancient Wedding is not just any story, it is our story. From this moment on, you are no longer just one for the other but you become the spouses of the entire Community, you will become part of our history. I hope you live this experience with the same joy and enthusiasm with which you presented yourselves to us».

The president of the Pro Loco Gianni Frau was unmissable: «<For our spouses it is a dream come true, both of them really cared about it», he is keen to underline. «Behind the event there is a huge amount of work and an army of people who work behind the scenes. All precious and fundamental protagonists, who remind us how the event is truly capable of uniting us all and is the celebration of the entire Community».
