For the 2026 Ardia, all the rumors about the race leaders have been confirmed. The official announcement took place this morning at the end of Easter Mass, when parish priest Don Maurizio Demartis announced the names of the flags for the race in honor of Saint Constantine, both on horseback and on foot.

In a packed church of San Giovanni Battista, where the flags were present as well as their families, the parish priest announced that the first flag on 6-7 July has been entrusted to Danilo Pes , 44 years old, a breeder, who will be joined by the second flag , Matteo Falchi , 46 years old, a firefighter and the third by Andrea Mureddu , 32 years old, also a breeder.

For Pes and Falchi, this isn't a debut in the leading trio: both were protagonists in 2013, as third and second flags, respectively, in the Ardia led by Giuseppe Carboni . They have a deep understanding of the mechanics of the race, essential elements for tackling one of Sardinia's most heartfelt religious and popular events.

Even for the Ardia on foot , which will be run on the day of the Octave, everything is as expected: the first flag will be Davide Muscau , supported by Graziano Salaris and Marco Sotgiu , second and third flags
