Anti-Covid screening is proceeding in Sardinia, with more or less difficulty, to allow students to return to school after the Christmas break in complete safety as required by the ordinance signed on Wednesday by Governor Christian Solinas.

Here is the common situation by municipality.

CAGLIARI - Excellent response on Saturday from Cagliari students for the first day dedicated to screening in anticipation of returning to class on 10 January.

Four operational offices in the capital, from 12 to 18, in the gyms of via Piceno, via Koch, via Fosse Ardeatine in Pirri and via Garavetti, where numerous students between 6 and 19 years old, but also some parents and members of the decent body , underwent the swab test.

All in full compliance with the rules of distancing, with a common goal: to stem the threat of virus vectors and avert the hypothesis of distance learning. "I did not hesitate even for a moment", the comment of Enrico, 17 years old from Dettori, one of the many boys in line. “We need to return to school in presence as soon as possible, as well as safely. This is the only way to avoid the Dad hypothesis, I hope that as many people as possible join. "Sunday second day from 9 to 18.

SETTIMO SAN PIETRO - The municipal administration of Settimo is finding the solution to somehow organize the administration of tampons on a voluntary basis provided by the Regional Civil Protection. In a statement to the population, the mayor Gigi Puddu announces that "I would like to underline that we are managing to organize the screening thanks exclusively to the good heart of some volunteer doctors and nurses from Settimo and thanks to the precious collaboration of the Misericordia di Settimo who have made themselves available to collaborate for the good of the community. The appointment is set for Sunday 9 January, starting at 9, at the council chamber of the Town Hall, until the 340 available swabs have been used up (we had requested 680). OSSI - Pasquale Lubinu, mayor of Ossi, is not there. Like many mayors, due to the pandemic, he is worried about the health of citizens and about ensuring a safe return to school for students and pupils after the Christmas holidays. And like other first citizens of the municipalities of Coros and the province of Sassari forced in just two days to organize the screening almost exclusively with their own means, after the ordinance of January 5 by the governor Christian Solinas. "We have been left alone: the Ats of Sassari is not able to adequately support all the municipalities. It does not have the means and human resources to guarantee sufficient assistance - ruled the mayor of Ossi Pasquale Lubinu - So after an initial loss, following the order of Solinas, as Administration we had no choice but to act independently. We were able to find doctors, nurses and staff, who with a spirit of self-denial and free of charge will guarantee screening for all pupils and students of Ossi schools , which will be held on Sunday in the gym in via Europa. During the day volunteers from the Blue Cross and barracelli will give their support. Our heartfelt thanks go to all of them. ATS has only provided us with tampons, about 800. Also as Administration - he concludes - we will deal with the disposal of the waste produced ". The screening will start on Sunday from 9 to 13 and from 15 to 19.

ITTIRI - There are 80 positives at Covid-19 in Ittiri, the main center of Coros, with over 8 thousand inhabitants. The municipal administration (with the collaboration of the didactic management) organizes for Sunday 9 January, at the gym in via XXV Luglio, a mass screening reserved for pupils, students, teaching and non-teaching staff, of the whole Ityrian school district. "A necessary effort of the Administration to ensure the resumption of teaching activities in maximum safety after the Christmas holidays - explains the mayor of Ittiri Antonio Sau -. I thank the doctors and nurses from Ichthira, who with their free commitment will make the day possible, like the body of the municipal police, civil protection and barracelli ".

TISSI - Sunday 9 January also in Tissi (2300 inhabitants), at the Cultural Center a day of mass screening aimed at the population. The initiative was organized by the Municipal Administration. "At the moment they are 40 positive - says the mayor Gianmaria Budroni -. I hope that as many citizens as possible undergo the test".

GOCEANO - Goceano is also organizing for the anti Covid screening campaign in schools. All 9 centers involved. On Sunday in Bono , from 9 to 18, at the Sports Hall, pupils and students of all schools (including commuters, teaching staff and others) of Bono, Burgos, Illorai, Esporlatu, Bottidda and Anela will be able to perform swabs. It will be a day organized between Administrations and Ats. "We have worked in synergy with the other mayors and the doctors of Usca will be employed - comments the mayor of Bono Elio Mulas -. We will therefore be able to have a picture of the situation for a safe return to school, even if clearly the best way to fight the pandemic is collective vaccination ". For pupils, students and staff of Benetutti and Nule, the appointment with the screening was on Saturday as for Bultei .

The test involved pupils and staff of the two kindergartens, elementary school and middle school. DOMUSNOVAS AND VILLAMASSARGIA - Good news arrives from Domusnovas and Villamassargia at the end of the two days of screening in schools organized by the same municipal administrations starting from Friday: only one positive detected in Domusnovas, 5 those registered in Villamassargia. In the municipality of the caves about 650 swabs were carried out (out of the 1,100 available, among which 500 collected at the Cagliari Fair) with an accurate booking and sorting system for the various groups of students and school staff that allowed for checks to be carried out in absolute safety. "It took hard work - said the mayor Isangela Mascia - but we are satisfied. Both for the membership, which reached 90 per cent (about 600 people to be checked), and for the results, all negative except for one. More initiatives like this would be needed, in order to be more peaceful, but we would also need more support from the health authorities. "The reference is to the excessive delays with which the tracing of contacts with positives is being carried out and the big delays on confirmations of positive cases. Officially, in fact, the contagion data speaks of 48 positivity (and 11 people in quarantine) but to these must be added at least another 15 (and also as many quarantines) confirmed by the mayor after telephone calls with those directly involved.

Orderly and safe screening also in Villamassargia where between Friday and today 323 swabs were carried out which allowed to detect 5 new positivity. Also in this case the official total of infections is delayed compared to the real situation: thanks to the communications sent to the mayor by the new people positive for the virus, the 11 certified cases are actually 17. Adding the 5 positives that emerged with the screening, a total is obtained. of 22 cases.

MUSEUMS - In Museums where initially screening in schools was not foreseen because the infections already ascertained did not concern the school environment, the municipal administration has changed its mind: mass screening will be carried out on Monday in the premises of Villa Asquer. Students are expected to return to school the next day. "These are only precautionary checks - explains Mayor Sasha Sais - since no contagion we are aware of, not even unofficially, concerns students or school staff". Even in the small village of Sulcis (1,500 souls) the count of positives is very late. Thanks to direct communications with the infected, the mayor counts 35 positivity while the official figure stands at 13 cases.

SANT'ANTIOCO AND CALASETTA - The screening of the student population of Sant'Antioco and Calasetta using nasal antigenic swabs took place on Saturday afternoon, starting at 3 pm at the Pala Giacomo Cabras on the city waterfront. Organized by the ASL 7 of Carbonia with the collaboration of the offices of the Municipality of Sant'Antioco, it involved on a voluntary basis the students and school staff, teaching and non-teaching, of primary and secondary schools of first and second grade present in the Municipalities of Sant'Antioco and Calasetta, including commuters. The screening took place over three shifts and the turnout was fair: there are about eight hundred out of a total student population between the two municipalities, therefore students plus teaching and non-teaching staff, of two thousand. Only one swab was positive. «Organized in two days and in a hurry, the screening went smoothly without any hitch - comments the mayor of Sant'Antioco Ignazio Locci - this thanks to the commitment, once again inevitable, of the voluntary associations and the municipal structure. Everyone gave their best to support the ASL 7 of Carbonia which, despite a moment of great pressure, took care of every single detail. We hope that this initiative will prove useful for the resumption of school in the presence and in safety. Which is exactly what we all want. We look forward with confidence, with the utmost attention, respecting the rules and collaborating in order to get out of this difficult moment soon ».
