In Cagliari , following the Ministry of Health's raising the heatwave and high temperature alert for the city to level 3 (red code) , the Municipal Operations Center, convened by Mayor Massimo Zedda, has decided to close the city cemeteries (Bonaria, San Michele, and Pirri) to the public as a precaution from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm, as well as Tuvixeddu Park on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 July.

Over the course of the day, temperatures in Cagliari could reach 40°C. The high temperature alert issued in recent days by the regional civil protection agency has also been confirmed.

Health and social services remain highly vigilant, with the 24-hour Social Emergency Service at 3496865769 and the telephone helpline, organized in collaboration with the Red Cross , for reporting and rapid interventions, particularly to support the elderly and vulnerable. The Municipality of Cagliari also recalls that with Ordinance No. 3 of June 17, the President of the Region established specific measures to protect the health and safety of workers engaged in outdoor activities in the agriculture, horticulture, construction, and plant engineering sectors, who are particularly exposed to the risks deriving from high summer temperatures.
