Last month of holidays for Sardinian students who are preparing for the big return to school: the date established by the Region is September 12. However, each institute, based on autonomy and without prejudice to the overall number of days of lessons, which must remain the same for everyone, can make choices both regarding the start date and closures during the school year for holidays and related "long weekends".

At the end of the summer, the first to return to class will be the students of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, for whom the bell will ring on September 5. On the same day, the children of the preschools of Lombardy will also begin their activities. Next, on September 9, it will be the turn of the students of the Autonomous Province of Trento, while in six regions the resumption of lessons will take place on September 11: they are Friuli Venezia Giulia, Marche, Piedmont, Umbria, Valle d'Aosta and Veneto. On the 12th, together with Sardinia, it will also be the turn of Campania, Lombardy, Molise.

The last to return to school will be students in Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Puglia and Tuscany, on September 16. Furthermore, regardless of the region and specific school calendars, schools throughout Italy will be closed during the 2024-2025 national holidays on these days: November 1, 2024 (All Saints' Day), December 8, 2024 (Immaculate Conception), December 25 (Christmas), December 26 (Boxing Day), January 1 (New Year's Eve), January 6 (Epiphany), April 20, 2025 (Easter), April 21, 2025 (Easter Monday), April 25, 2025 (Liberation Day), May 1, 2025 (Labor Day), June 2, 2025 (Republic Day).
