Workers at work inside the ''Chighizzu II'' tunnel, at the gates of Sassari, in the direction of Porto Torres. With an investment of 9.5 million, Anas is proceeding with the reconstruction of the deteriorated lining, reinforcing it with electro-welded iron panels, then covered with a special mortar.

The works were carried out in agreement with the Region and also include the installation of digital signage, lighting, fire prevention and video surveillance systems .

The works are expected to be completed by January 2026 , as confirmed by the regional councilor for Public Works, Antonio Piu.
