Sassari: They ask for money for the church, but it's a scam

The ways of the Lord are infinite and, just a little less numerous, so are those of scams. In Sassari, there are those who are passing through the streets of the Latte Dolce neighborhood asking for money with an apparent good cause, but in reality false. In fact, they hold out their hand, to be filled with banknotes, to let the procession of Mary Help of Christians pass through the street. The latest reports come from via Bellini, always with the same request. "It is communicated - warn the priests of the church of Nostra Signora di Latte Dolce, the parish priest Don Fabrizio Di Loreto and Don Mirko Rosso - that no one from the Salesian community of Sassari has authorized this initiative".

The two priests invite to warn the inhabitants of the neighborhood not to give money to any of these beggars. "We are not used to doing these initiatives," reports Don Fabrizio. But the Marian month is upon us and someone, it would seem, has smelled earthly and illegitimate miracles.
