Investigators are working to uncover the truth about the death of William Manca , the 45-year-old from Sassari found dead on September 10 last year in the Bancali countryside, four days after the last night he was seen alive and while he was traveling, in the company of some acquaintances, from the historic center of Sassari to the village.

In recent days, in Cagliari, the RIS (Italian Special Investigative Unit) conducted unique technical investigations requested by prosecutor Ermanno Cattaneo , who is in charge of the case. Under scrutiny are evidence taken from those who allegedly spent that last night with William, which could involve both the cell phones of the suspects , whose exact numbers are still unknown, and any biological traces collected from the places where Manca allegedly stopped.

The Public Prosecutor's Office is maintaining the utmost secrecy regarding what immediately appeared to be a sensitive matter. The 45-year-old was found half-hidden by vegetation, and the man's brother, Fabio, immediately reported the incident, believing he couldn't have gotten there on his own . In October, several people were interviewed by the Carabinieri at the barracks as witnesses. The Carabinieri officers searched the homes of some of them and seized their cell phones. Investigators are now awaiting further information from the forensic laboratory.
