Blood and drama this morning in Sassari, in an ERSU building that houses students between Via Rosello and Via Lamarmora.

A young resident of the facility first stabbed a security guard in the building, then jumped into the air. The exact circumstances are still being ascertained. But according to leaks, there is a background: two female students had sent an email to the institution's management that night to complain about the attempted break-in into their room by the 23-year-old Moroccan man.

The student was rescued this morning by 118 emergency workers: his condition is serious. The caretaker's condition is less worrying.

The Police Headquarters' Flying Squad is investigating the incident: Director Michele Mecca and his Flying Squad colleague Virginia Martinazzi were on site. Mayor Giuseppe Mascia and the local police were also present.

The chronicle of the drama

"We saw him jump to his feet." Witnesses on Via al Rosello in Sassari described the stabbing and attempted suicide that occurred between 9:20 and 9:30 a.m. "He had first thrown a laptop, and the doorman of the Ersu building intervened," they reported. Then the 23-year-old Moroccan, who had been occupying a room on Via La Marmora for a few days, along with other students, allegedly stabbed the 33-year-old doorman.

It's currently unclear what triggered the violence. " We heard screams for help, and then the boy appeared on the roof." According to initial reconstructions, he climbed up from the laundry room, exiting through the skylight, and walked along the roof. "He threw his slippers down. I yelled at him to stop." Then came the four-story fall, the impact, and the very serious injuries. Emergency services took the young man to the emergency room at Santissima Annunziata, in critical condition.

The caretaker, on the other hand, had several stab wounds, including on his head, but fortunately is not in critical condition. "I've only seen this boy twice," a student stated, "hitting the caretaker and then falling to the ground." The twenty-three-year-old had been a resident of the facility since October.
