There is a bureaucratic problem at the root of the situation that is creating serious consequences within the port area of Isola Bianca, in Olbia.

Since late Saturday evening , around seventy migrants from the CAS in Monastir have been waiting to hear the decisions of the public security authorities.

Young men, women, and even a mother with children arrived at the Olbia port to board several ferries bound for Civitavecchia and Livorno. According to reports in the last few hours , the captains of the vessels on which the migrants were preparing to board did not allow them to board due to the inability to electronically scan the documents held by those arriving from Monastir.

The denied boarding has created and continues to create serious problems. Furthermore, according to rumors, among those camped inside and outside the maritime station are young people subject to expulsion orders. In most cases, however, the migrants arriving in Olbia have duly purchased a ticket to a peninsula and then on to various destinations throughout Europe.

Many migrants have been sleeping outside the maritime station. The Sardinian Port Authority and the staff of the Olbia and Tempio police stations are managing the situation as best they can.
