The trial opened today in court in Sassari against a 50-year-old man from Oziera accused of setting fire to the private car of a policeman.

The episode occurred on 6 June 2019 in Buddusò, in the square where both the Municipality and the Army barracks are located. And it was the offended party who testified before judge Anna Pintore: a 29-year-old from Cagliari, still a Carabiniere, also victim in 2018 of an identical act of intimidation by another person.

"The fire occurred at 4 in the morning - he says, answering questions from the prosecutor Antonio Pala - the car was destroyed and the flames also hit the municipal big screen, the video surveillance cameras, then approaching a center for the elderly".

The fire in the Volkswagen was started by devil plates positioned by a person with a hood and an uncovered face, filmed on video and recognized by the man.

"He was under house arrest - he continues - and we caught him on two occasions away from home, once at a bar while intoxicated."

The police from the Ozieri unit took care of the investigations and, in the meantime, the policeman, targeted for two years in a row, was transferred to other barracks on the island. Having formed a civil party, the man is assisted by the lawyer Antonio Secci while the lawyers Giampaolo Murrughile and Elisabetta Udassi defend the accused.
