Sassari, "burns" the red light and overwhelms a car with three girls at breakneck speed: in the alcohol test six times over the permitted limit

Over the weekend, at 2 in the morning, a young man "burned" a red light at a downtown intersection and hit a small car in which three girls were traveling at breakneck speed . The young women were injured and taken to hospital but the accident, which occurred in one of the areas most frequented by young people at night, could have ended much worse. The boy responsible for the incident recorded a blood alcohol level six times higher than the permitted limit .

Of the 920 accidents that occurred from January to August, approximately 10% were attributable to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs . Another dramatic fact concerns fatal accidents: in the first eight months of the year there were eight deaths.

For this reason the municipal administration, thanks to the local police, has decided to further intensify checks , especially at the weekend. The actions will focus on checks on the psycho-physical state of drivers. Statistics, in fact, demonstrate that the strengthening raises the levels of attention on the part of users towards road safety and an ever greater respect for the rules.
