Specialist oncology visits in Sardinia? Yes, but for a fee. A recent question for immediate response, submitted by Sinistra Futura councilors Canu, Casula, and Pizzuto, denounces how (according to "multiple reports"), in many regional healthcare facilities, oncology visits—including admissions—are performed almost exclusively in -person , forcing patients to pay for services that should be covered by the National Health System. This practice—if confirmed—according to the signatories—a serious obstacle to access to care, lengthening waiting lists and discriminating against those who cannot afford private visits.

The question emphasizes that Law 833 of 1978 and the new LEA (decree of 12 January 2017) provide for the universal right to health and free oncology services from the suspected diagnosis stage , therefore from the first visit, up to treatment and follow-up. Consequently, excessive use of intramoenia could constitute a violation of the rights enshrined in the legal system .

But the requests addressed to President Todde and the regional health councillor also aim to know the number of paid oncology visits , the number of facilities that make prevalent or exclusive use of them , to clarify what actions will be undertaken to address the problem and to verify whether there are monitoring activities on waiting lists in oncology pathways , evaluating any "urgent measures to strengthen oncology services and limit the improper use of intramoenia, especially for services that must be guaranteed to all citizens in a uniform and free manner, in particular for the aforementioned pathologies".
