Defined as a pianist with a “luminous touch”, Martina Consonni will open the 16th edition of "The great interpreters of music", the series curated by the Cooperativa Teatro e/o Musica, on Friday at the Verdi theatre in Sassari (8.30pm).

Martina Consonni will be accompanied by the Teatro Verdi Chamber Orchestra (Konzertmeister Guglielmo De Stasio) in a program that includes performances of Franz Joseph Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major, Hob. XVIII:11, and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Piano Concerto in G minor, Op. 25, interspersed with Gioachino Rossini's Sonata for Four No. 1 in G major.

Born in Como and graduating in piano at just 14, Martina Consonni made her debut at the young age of 10 with the Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra and has since performed in the most prestigious international venues, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Wigmore Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
