No water due to the risk of Legionella in the Hematology department at Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari . This is the complaint of a patient admitted for chemotherapy prior to a transplant.
"I'd like to report," he wrote on social media, "the pitiful situation in the ward, which has been denied running water due to the presence of legionella." "Yesterday," he began, "I had a fever and was given antibiotics as a prophylaxis. Is it possible that I'm coming here to treat an illness and risk further infections?"
The woman calls the situation "absurd" and "unacceptable," explaining that she is forced to wash herself "with cold water bottles."
The patient's statement was also echoed by regional councilor Francesca Masala of the Brothers of Italy party. The AOU health management, when contacted, has yet to provide a response.
