The first post office in Sassari was inaugurated this morning. €860,000 in National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) funds are earmarked for the construction of the facility on Via Duca degli Abruzzi, which has been operational for a few days, and on Via Frassetto, which will be available from 2026. This operation involves, in addition to Sassari, the other municipalities of the Plus network—Sorso, Porto Torres, and Stintino—to provide a reception and orientation service for the most vulnerable.

The Ali cooperative will take care of receiving the homeless , who will be able to have a place to leave their luggage, take a shower and, above all, access paper and electronic mail, thus having the opportunity to take advantage of essential services.

"There are a thousand people in the city registered on Via dell'Anagrafe ," reveals the contract's executive director and Social Services official Alberto Puglia. The ministry aims to reach a target of 82 people by March 2026. A pedagogue, a social worker, and a psychologist from the Ali cooperative, which is responsible for the service, will direct the people toward employment and address their expressed needs.

"This place," says Mayor Giuseppe Mascia, "is the result of cross-sectoral work. Previously, there was a dormitory here, which was moved to Via Ardara, although we know it's not enough." "The post station," continues Councilor for Social Cohesion Policies and Services Lalla Careddu, "represents a starting point for many people. We are addressing needs that have changed significantly over the years."
