"Gavina had been living in Belgium for 30 years - says Don Costantino, parish priest of the Pio X church in Li Punti where the funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 pm - she was a very jovial and outgoing person ". And it was in Belgium that the woman had her daughter, Monica, 24, with whom she worked together in the same restaurant . "She knew four languages and could have worked at the European Parliament but she preferred contact with people and being together".

Gavina's father had also emigrated in his time, later returning to the island where he was born to work in a construction company.
