A 53-year-old man from the hinterland was sent to trial for stalking yesterday in court in Sassari .

The preliminary hearing judge Giuseppe Grotteria made the order against the man accused of some harassing conduct committed, according to the accusations, between 2024 and 2025 against his ex-wife .

Some of these had found a home on social media, where the 53-year-old insulted the woman with harsh words, and death threats were made on Facebook itself . "Watch your back," the defendant reportedly wrote, also mentioning "graves to be filled" and other similar incidents.

On another occasion, the injured party had received an envelope containing a 6.35 caliber cartridge , while in a WhatsApp message addressed to his son, referring to a date, he reportedly said: "I wonder if that b***h will arrive and you too...".

The man is still accused, according to the indictment, of insulting his ex-partner on the public street and also of writing an email to his ex-partner alluding to the death of her brother, calling him a "scoundrel," and calling her a "scumbag."

The prosecutor is Maria Paola Asara, the civil party lawyer is Martina Pinna, and Tina Lunesu is the lawyer defending the 53-year-old.

The first hearing will be held on October 17 before Judge Silvia Masala.
