Hit while in a wheelchair by a car . It happened to a 42-year-old this morning in Sassari, at the intersection of via Carducci and via Grazia Deledda .
"I had passed the handicapped descent," Sonia says, "and I was almost on the other side when I felt the impact." The car was turning onto Via Carducci and ended up against the woman, moving her "about a meter. Luckily, the wheelchair didn't overturn."
Transported to the emergency room with a yellow code, the woman was given a seven-day prognosis. But, pain aside, her thoughts turn to what could have been worse and the dangers she faces every day in the Monte Rosello neighborhood .
"I have already reported that I am forced to move in the middle of the street every day because in via Sulcis and other streets there is no possibility of having a ramp for disabled people". A route that always exposes her to dangers. "I would like the architectural barriers to be eliminated for me and for disabled people like me. And it would be nice to have more local police officers here". In the meantime, the Municipality has taken action to find solutions to the problem, mapping the areas that present critical issues in this sense.
