Sassari, blitz against Nigerian mafia: 30 arrests for drugs, human trafficking and prostitution

Thirty arrest warrants issued by the Cagliari District Anti-Mafia Directorate , against as many individuals of Nigerian origin investigated for mafia association.
According to investigators, the organization, called “Viking” and which operated in close contact with Nigeria, operated mainly in the city of Sassari, with branches in Cagliari , Genoa, Isernia, Caserta, Verona, Siena and Terni, and also abroad, especially in Mauritania, France, Holland and Germany.
The group, in addition to managing drug trafficking from abroad and the city's drug dealing areas, laundered large amounts of money and was also involved in human trafficking and the exploitation of prostitution .
