An attempted fraud in driving license exams was discovered in Sassari in recent days. During the theory tests, at the Civil Motorization office in the capital of Sassari, traffic police officers noticed suspicious behavior by two people of Pakistani origin . Once the candidates were searched, the police found some electronic devices hidden in their clothing . The devices, consisting of microcameras, earphones and transmitters, were connected to Italian and foreign SIM cards and allowed external communication intended to receive suggestions during the exam.
Later, cell phones, pocket Wi-Fi routers and other technological material were also found, which was seized. The investigations revealed that the two had given a foreigner, still unidentified, 2,000 euros each, to deceive them into passing the theory test .
The two were taken to the offices of the Highway Police Section of Sassari and reported to the judicial authorities for the crime of aggravated fraud. Investigations are underway to identify further accomplices involved.
