Sassari-Alghero, green light for the 238 million euro project. Solinas: «Anas proceeds with awarding the works»
An intervention awaited for decades, the extraordinary commissioner: "The island cannot do without a modern and efficient road network capable of connecting the whole territory"
Green light to the executive project on the Nurra state road 291 for the completion of the Sassari-Alghero road (lot 1, from Alghero to Olmedo, Rudas junction) and the link road with Fertilia airport (lot 4).
An intervention that has been awaited for years: the text approved by the President of the Region (and Extraordinary Commissioner for public works appointed by the Government) Christian Solinas includes the adjustment of the cost of the work, updated to 238 million euros, which has been guaranteed the financial coverage. The provisions have been sent to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and to Anas, the executing entity, which will now have to entrust the works.
Article 4 of the provision, signed by Solinas, provides Anas with the task "to immediately and without delay start all the activities necessary for the timely construction of the work through the completion of a tender , with the application of the offer economically most advantageous, identified on the basis of the best quality/price ratio".
«The Sassari-Alghero – said the president – represents an important road construction, expected for decades. Now with all the financial coverage available, it will finally be possible to proceed with its completion. The development of Sardinia cannot disregard a modern and efficient road network, capable of connecting the whole territory and in particular the ports and airports, gateways to our Island and to the rest of the world. We have given an important new impetus to major works and strategic infrastructures, also thanks to a stronger dialogue with the Government. The Sassari-Alghero represents an important piece in this picture and, still on the roads, I also remind you that only a few days ago we were able to inaugurate the opening of the 125 state road in the new section between Tortolì and Bari Sardo. But the focus is not only on the fundamental road works: works that have been idle for some time are restarting, such as the Cumbidanovu and Monti Nieddu dams, of great importance for the irrigation sector and the distribution of water for industrial and civil uses. We have very clear objectives and we will continue in the direction we have traced».
