In Sassari, the Monte Rosello Alto neighborhood has become a hub for thefts. Last night, another resident of the area found his car window smashed with a stone by the usual unknown assailants who took a wallet and a black purse. "Only documents," the owner reports, "but it's a big nuisance."

In the meantime, however, similar incidents are multiplying between via Manzoni and via Sulcis and surrounding streets, with a crescendo of cars damaged, smashed, set on fire or directly stolen as recently happened in via Prati.

And despite some recent arrests of people allegedly involved in these actions, the phenomenon continues unabated. Now the general feeling is one of fear among residents who no longer know where to park.
