A packed Sassari cathedral was held to pay tribute to Alberto Chessa, the 55-year-old who passed away last week.

The Guild community, the Torres supporters, friends and acquaintances, and the mayor Giuseppe Mascia, have expressed their grief to the family of “Albertone” , a very well-known person in the city and, in particular, in the historic center.

A moving ceremony, officiated in the cathedral by Don Eugenio Cavallo, amid the memories of those who knew him and had the opportunity to appreciate his kindness and helpfulness.

As they left the church, the Nuova Guardia group, supporters of the Rossoblu team and co-founded by Chessa himself, bid farewell . "We are always with you/we will never leave you," was one of the chants sung in front of the churchyard and the coffin of the Sassarese native. The coffin was carried on the shoulders of members of the Shoemakers' Guild, to which Chessa had always belonged.
