A complaint has been filed with the Public Prosecutor's Office in Sassari to put an end to the vulgar summer. The complaint was filed this morning in court by the national coordination body of the independence movement Repùblica, which has collected a series of reports regarding incidents on Sardinian beaches and coasts, requesting the intervention of the judiciary and law enforcement.

During the speech in front of the Palace of Justice, they recalled "the illegal landings from mega-yachts, the illegal parties in nature reserves, and the plundering of state-owned maritime property from Palau to La Maddalena National Park and the island of Mortorio."

From Orosei to Cala Coticcio to the beaches, numerous instances of behavior have been documented by Repùblica, which attacks: "We cannot tolerate Sardinia being treated like a lawless land, where wealthy tourists, mega-yachts, and uncivilized people think they can trample on the law, the environment, and the right of Sardinians to protect their environmental heritage and freely enjoy their sea just because they can. This isn't tourism, it's predatory colonialism."

The movement's proposal is different: "A tourism model that enriches both tourists and Sardinians, not only economically, but also culturally and humanly. An exchange based on respect for places and the profound culture that arises from those places, where the land is respected, even in its silences."

Then comes the attack on "mass tourism," they declare, "which the Sardinia Region seems to want to focus on." "Sardinia," Repùblica concludes, "doesn't need disrespectful people who, thanks to their wealth, think that because they can afford to pay fines, they can continue to break the law with impunity. These people, in addition to the fine, should be served with a five-year banishment order."
