After two weeks in a coma, Giovanni Spano, the 60-year-old who was hit by a car on 28 October while crossing the street on Via Sulcis , in the Sassari neighbourhood of Monte Rosello, died at the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari .
In the accident the man had suffered a serious head trauma and had immediately lost consciousness. After the rescue of 118 he had been rushed to the hospital and had been admitted to the intensive care unit. Here he remained in a coma for two weeks, until today, when his body stopped fighting and ceased to live . Unfortunately, the doctors' attempts to save his life were useless.
The driver who hit him is now under investigation for road homicide .
