This time the announcement came almost simultaneously: within an hour of each other, the Farmers' Guild and the Carpenters' Guild officially opened a new chapter of Sartiglia .

Diego Pinna and Salvatore Aru will be the protagonists of the 2025 edition, they will have the task of leading the procession of 120 knights on March 2 and 4.

A day full of emotion, which symbolically marks the beginning of the long journey towards the long-awaited event.
The first to come out into the open was the corporation of San Giovanni: in the homonymous country church s'Oberaju majori, Gabriele Pinna, announced his chosen one. It is Diego Pinna, 52 years old and a life tied to the Giostra a doppia mandata . Son of Tomaso Pinna, a historic member of the guild who passed away last April, he ran his first Sartiglia in '92. In his album of memories two silver stars, but the real dream will be crowned on Sunday 2 March, when he will arrive on the route with the top hat on his head. "It's an indescribable emotion", the first words pronounced with a moved tone. Accompanying him will be two other veterans: Angelo Porta and Pietro Putzulu. Toasts and hugs were repeated a little later in via Eleonora, where the guild of San Giuseppe met.

Rumors had been circulating for months about the name of the alleged Componidori of Carnival Tuesday, but as tradition dictates, confirmation arrived only with the official invitation. The “majorale” Antonello Fenu finally knocked on the door of Salvatore Aru, who in addition to being a very skilled rider is also his son-in-law. However, he earned the investiture on the sand of via Duomo and especially in via Mazzini where he has always distinguished himself with spectacular evolutions. “It’s an indescribable feeling,” comments the thirty-year-old, who grew up in the Sartigliedda environment, which has eleven editions and three stars in its palmares. He will be joined in pairs by Stefano Spiga and Antonio Giandolfi.

A day of celebration for the little ones too: at the Pro Loco headquarters, in via Ciutadella de Menorca, accompanied by the sounds of mini drummers and trumpeters, president Gianni Ledda officially presented the all-female team that will lead the Sartigliedda: the rider Giulia Atzei, accompanied by her second, Laura Firinu and her third, Camilla Daga, from the Giara Oristanese riding association of Antonio Madeddu. With them also the young Eleonora Demontis, who will play the Giudicessa d'Arborea in the three-day equestrian event.
