They created 40 Internet sites where they sold pellets at bargain prices, but they were just a red herring to lure customers to scam.

The discovery was made by the carabinieri of Seneghe and Marrubiu, who denounced three women and four men residing in Naples, Caserta, Pisa, Bologna and Milan for aggravated and continued fraud and person replacement.

Two citizens of Seneghe have triggered the investigations, reporting the scams suffered to the Arma. They had searched the net for offers for the purchase of pellets, ending up in the aforementioned sites and paying the scammers a total of 1,200 euros. Without receiving anything in return.

The military, having collected the complaints, managed to trace the 40 sites opened by the seven people in which they were fake data, addresses and telephone numbers. Then they contacted the companies that had provided the online spaces, thus identifying the scammers and asking for the sites to be blocked.
