Among the many last minute resolutions approved by the outgoing regional council , there is one of 23 February which is mobilizing specialist centers and private analysis laboratories.

The provision, explains the president of Federlab Sardegna Enrico Tinti , " decides the volumes of services for the three-year period 2024-26, which would be the responsibility of the new regional council ". And, above all, " it leaves the services unchanged, which have been at a standstill for 10 years now , compared to previous years, despite Ares and the central government having expressed their desire to increase spending on specialist outpatient care in the hope of satisfying the needs of the Sardinian population" .

This decision, continues Tinti, «will certainly lead to an extension of waiting lists and an increase in intra- and inter-regional mobility of patients », because in fact «it prevents patients from being able to choose the structure to which they turn, if not at their own expense ».

In Sardinia, recalls the president of Federlab, the outpatient specialist "provides 60% of the affiliated specialist services".

It should be underlined that specialist centers and private analysis laboratories are already on a war footing over the new national tariff for outpatient specialists, which could lead to a stop in agreed services from next April 1st .
