Sardinian football mourns the death of Antonello Scalas, former footballer and coach, who passed away yesterday. The 79-year-old from Cagliari played in various teams (Ferrini, Guspini, Atletico Cagliari Oristanese and Senorbì) as a defender before hanging up his boots and becoming a coach.

With the Orrù brothers' Atletico Cagliari he won the first division championship in the 1973-1974 season. As a coach he led Senorbì himself and the youth teams of Cagliari Calcio.

Many messages of condolence and closeness to the family, especially from former teammates and former opponents who, in addition to remembering Scalas' skill as a player, have always appreciated his qualities as a man. Today, at 3:00 pm, in the church of Santa Maria del Suffragio, in via Flavio Gioia, there will be a final farewell.
