Tempio's investigating judge, Marcella Pinna, has ordered house arrest for Alessandro Diaz, a Lombard former basketball player, arrested yesterday by Porto Cervo police officers after several weeks of activity in Cannigione, Palau, and the Costa Smeralda. According to documents sent to the Tempio Prosecutor's Office, Diaz was found in possession of 43 pre-packaged doses of cocaine, weighing approximately 1.5 grams each.

Six thousand euros in cash and materials used, according to the State Police, to cut and package the drugs were also seized. The cocaine was found after a search of a camper used by the former basketball player.

The two-meter-tall man, whose movements and movements in Cannigione and Palau were not unnoticed, was closely monitored by officers coordinated by the director, Valentina Piras. Diaz, represented by attorney Nino Vargiu, was released this morning. The investigating judge granted his defense's requests, imposing a less severe prison sentence.
