That April day over two hundred years ago, when an entire land raised its head, united under the banner of revolution: and as we question ourselves today on the themes of freedom, language, self-determination and identity, the Sardinian Revolution of 1794 is once again remembered in the capital with the initiatives of " Nara Cixiri. Thoughts on the 'Sardinian Revolution' in contemporary Sardinia ", a project by the Municipality implemented by Terra de Punt with the support of the Region .
A program that recalls the famous formula used by the Cagliari rebels to identify the Piedmontese occupiers, and which will visit not only cultural and entertainment venues, but also some of the very sites of the historic insurrection , involving the city's high schools with screenings and meetings with historians Omar Onnis , Giampaolo Salice , and Valterio Deidda , in a discussion on the liberation of the people and the prospects for our island. Concurrently, four events open to the public are scheduled until October 28 .
It starts today at 6 pm , with the Spazio Search in Largo Carlo Felice 2 hosting the free-entry meeting entitled " Procurade 'e moderare ", with Lia Careddu giving voice to the most significant passages of "S u Patriotu Sardu a sos Feudatarios ", composed in 1794 by the Ozieri magistrate Francesco Ignazio Mannu , originally printed and circulated clandestinely and today the official anthem of the Sardinia Region. Between one verse and the next, Franciscu Sedda , Francesco Casula , Luciano Carta and Salvatore Cubeddu will offer interventions of historical and literary exegesis of the text, moderated by Ottavio Nieddu , with an opening that places the voices of the Cagliari students at the centre and a finale on the notes of the same anthem, performed by the Carrales choir .
The event continues on Friday 23rd at 9pm , moving to the Teatro Massimo for the " Nara Cixiri " concert, in the name of roots, revolt and language and also with free admission : on stage an excellent lineup, with the Tenore Murales of Orgosolo , Piero Marras , Rossella Faa , Ambra Pintore , Dolfi , Randagiu Sardu in duo with Matteo Leone and the Let's Roots Duo , with the expert conduction of Lele Pittoni and Renzo Cugis . While the following day, Saturday 24th , two shifts are scheduled - one in the morning at 10am , and the other in the afternoon at 4pm - of the walk in the Sardinian language of " Is bias de s'Aciapa ", starting from Piazza Palazzo and passing through the places of the Vespers, from Via Angioy, Porta di Sant'Agostino, Torre dell'Elefante, Palazzo Boyl, Palazzo Regio and Palazzo Arcivescovile up to the Marina district, under the guidance of Pittoni and Deidda .
To conclude, on Wednesday 28th , there is the meeting " Sant'Efis e sa Rivolutzione " in the Church of Sant'Efisio in Stampace, organised in collaboration with the Arciconfraternita del Gonfalone : addressing the relationship between popular devotion, civil memory and revolutionary events, the peculiar way in which the cult of the Saint was rekindled in the years of the uprisings is examined - so much so that he was named "Supreme Commander of the Defenders" during the French siege of the previous year - and shedding light on the role that the Arciconfraternita had in the Sardinian Revolution.
