In Sardinia, in one year there were “only” 1,343 home burglaries. Only because this is the lowest incidence rate (8.6 per 10,000 inhabitants) in Italy.
This is what emerges from a study by the Censis-Verisure Home Security Observatory , carried out with the support of the Criminal Analysis Service of the Ministry of the Interior.
The data (relating to 2023) indicates, it is emphasized, how the homes of those who live on the Island are (almost) burglar-proof, with 16.4 points less than the national average. The home security index confirms these data: 110.5/100 corresponds to the second best result in Italy after the Marche.
All this despite the fact that cases of burglary in apartments have increased by 6% compared to 2022: an increase still lower than the national average of 10.4% .
Furthermore, the emergency report shows that Italians are paying increasing attention to the safety of their homes. According to the data, 89.2% consider home security an essential element for their well-being and 50.1% plan to invest more in protection systems in the coming years.
The sharp increase in thefts across the country is pushing more and more families to equip themselves with advanced security solutions. 64.7% of Italians believe an integrated alarm system is necessary, capable of anticipating and neutralizing dangers. In addition to protection against intrusions, the need for personal safety devices is also growing, with 25.5% fearing domestic accidents and 37.7% worried about feeling ill at home without the possibility of receiving help.
