The bill is called "Further mobility of Sardinia" and was drawn up by the transport working group wanted by the Rector of the University of Sassari Gavino Mariotti in collaboration with the regional councilor for transport Antonio Moro. The scheme provides for the granting of financial provisions for the development of air traffic to and from Sardinian airports.
In detail, the Region is asked to authorize the expenditure of 5 million euros for the year 2023 and 10 million for both 2024 and 2025, with coverage by using the resources already allocated. With start-up typology, start-up help through the activation of new routes.
The beneficiaries are identified in the European air carriers in possession of the air operator certificate (Coa) and the operating license, registered in the register of companies.
The bill was presented this morning in the council chamber of the Sassari university in the presence of the rector Mariotti, the councilor Moro, the professors Comenale Pinto and Chessa, and in online connection with the Enac president Di Palma and the Sardinian governor Solinas who they expressed their appreciation for the initiative.
Councilor Moro said: «We managed to keep our commitment to systematize the possibility of direct aid to carriers. The text of the law is simple, 8 articles governing these aids for the opening of new routes. The allocation of resources leads to the reduction of approximately 50% of airport costs which is implemented with a tender managed directly by the Sardinia Region".
