In Sardinia, not only public healthcare is struggling. Private healthcare is also struggling, with clinics and laboratories forced – the same facilities report – to “cancel reservations”.

A warning written in black and white in a letter to regional councilor Armando Bartolazzi: "Given the cut in spending for services under agreement, we are no longer able to guarantee exams and visits," the facilities warn.

It is explained that only 64 million euros of the 72 million that Ares had budgeted are available.
