Young Sardinians gathered in an assembly to "open an unprecedented path of participation that will aim to build a great movement of political and cultural change, towards and beyond the next electoral deadlines".

The “Sardegna calls Sardegna” initiative is scheduled for next 6 November in Sant'Anna (Oristano), at the Varia multipurpose center.

To organize it, we read in a note, “workers and self-employed workers or employees, looking for a job, students and students. We live precarious lives and every day we strive to live our island with dignity, putting our energies in local administrations, in associations, in the world of culture and volunteering. But this commitment is no longer enough. All the indicators and open disputes paint an island in free fall, in which it is difficult to imagine a future ”, declare the promoters and promoters.

“It is unrealistic to delegate the solutions to those who have irresponsibly led us into this situation. Most of the political class ruling our island is patronage, inadequate to the role it plays, subordinate to multinationals, large predatory companies, private foundations and freemasonry that decide the fate of Sardinia without ever having been elected by anyone ", they continue.

"The Sardinia that we inherit from them is increasingly impoverished, depopulated and depressed. We felt the need to act concretely, organizing a public call open to all those who - regardless of age and previous experience - want to imagine and build a more just island , sustainable, generative of opportunities, democratized and self-determined ".

They conclude: “It is illusory to think that a few new names and the usual alternation between power groups in the next electoral deadlines may be enough. On the contrary, a solid political alternative is needed that concretely responds to the various social demands and that pursues a profound transformation of the socio-economic framework with credible and pragmatic projects. To build it, the only way is to bring the needs and projects of change of the majority of people who live daily the hardships and unexpressed potential of this land into the public debate ”.
