It was another dramatic day for Sardinia , where fires struck relentlessly: in just a few hours, 20 fires broke out across the region from north to south, nine of which were so large that they required the intervention of the regional air fleet and the national air convoy.
The most serious situations affected Seui, Pabillonis, Serrenti, Bottida, Narbolia, Oliena, Muravera, Tuili and Santa Giusta.
In Seui, in the Funtana Culi Cucuru de Pardu area , flames have devoured 3 hectares of Mediterranean scrub. Helicopters from San Cosimo and Sorgono responded, along with teams from the Forestry Corps, the Nuoro fire department, and the Forestas fire department.
In Pabillonis, in the Pauli area , the fire devastated approximately 60 hectares of uncultivated land and eucalyptus trees. Canadair from Olbia, regional helicopters, and ground teams were on site, supported by volunteers and Barracelli.
In Serrenti, in the town of the same name, flames spread across 25 hectares of land and crops. Complex operations were supported by a Super Puma, Canadair, and ground vehicles.
In Bottida, in the Tanca Noa area , one hectare of bushes and olive groves burned. In Narbolia , in the Cantiere n.1 area, 1,000 square meters of pine forest litter were destroyed, with targeted interventions to save the area.
The situation is particularly critical in Oliena, in the Corcodde area , where flames have already spread to approximately 60 hectares. Four Canadair helicopters, helicopters, and numerous ground crews are operating here.
In Muravera, in the Monte Barraccas area, operations are underway to stop a fire that has already affected 5 hectares of crops and scrub.
In Tuili, in the Canali area , 4 hectares of stubble burned, while in Santa Giusta, in the Acqua Urci area, the fire affected marsh vegetation on approximately one and a half hectares.
