On Wednesday the regional guarantor of persons deprived of personal liberty, Irene Testa, had written to the Italian embassy in Finland and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to ask for an account of the conditions of Nicola Ruiu, 24 years old, and Edmondo Casula, 39, from Dorgali, locked up in the Helsinki prisons in Finland and who, according to Italian lawyers, Francesco Lai and Ivano Iai, are denied the right to defense.

Today it is Forza Italia MP and vice-president of the Justice Commission, Pietro Pittalis , who is dealing with the case by collecting the complaint from the Nuoro lawyers and announcing " an urgent question addressed to both the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Foreign Affairs in order to be able to intervene immediately , also at the Finnish diplomatic representation in Italy, to understand the reasons for this arrest, whether international procedures have been respected and whether existing conventions on human rights have been violated. It is absolutely not possible that Finland, a country belonging to the European Union like Italy, arrests two of our compatriots and holds them in prison without anyone knowing what they are accused of ."

The two Dorgali people have been locked up for about a month and a half in Helsinki prisons and are not allowed to communicate with their Italian lawyers, forbidding them to talk about the proceedings underway against them and to express themselves in the Sardinian language. The two young people confided to their families that they were detained in terrible conditions, in the cold and with little food .
