He had already been sentenced to twelve years' imprisonment for attempted murder . Alberto Picci, a 48-year-old from Cagliari, had reduced his parents to death at dawn on April 27, 2022, after having struck them in their sleep with a harpoon and fishing scissors .

But after a long coma, the father died as a result of his injuries. And now Picci will have to return to the courtroom. This time, however, the accusation will be of murder . The preliminary hearing judge of the Court of Sassari today accepted the request presented by the deputy prosecutor Angelo Beccu, sending the accused to trial.

The first hearing was scheduled in the Assize Court for 11 June.
