It seems that Andrea Giuntoli and Francesco Salis knew each other well: the former is now in prison accused of having killed the latter.

The crime occurred last night in Santa Giusta . The two were together in a bar.

From what has been reconstructed, they began to argue, perhaps due to a few too many drinks. There was apparently a compliment to a relative, made by one of the two, which infuriated the other. The tones became increasingly heated and the argument continued in the street, in via Dante, the scene of the murder, not far from the elementary schools of the village.

According to the first checks carried out by the Carabinieri of the Oristano Company, who arrived on the scene together with the 118, Salis allegedly took a stick, then also a billhook to threaten Giuntoli. The latter, in turn, approached his car to take the hunting rifle. The argument continued with shouts and threats, until the gunshot that killed Salis was fired.

The shot fired at close range would suggest a fight. The rifle was loaded with pellets, it hit Salis in the lower abdomen, fatally wounding him. When the carabinieri arrived on the scene, there were still some people who had witnessed the scene.

The 118 medical staff transported the injured man in red code to the San Martino hospital in Oristano, where he died shortly after.

Also thanks to the testimonies, the carabinieri were able to immediately trace the name of Giuntoli, who in the meantime had escaped. They found him at his home, in the middle of the night. He did not resist and handed himself over to the military. He is now in Massama prison, accused of voluntary homicide.

The preliminary hearing before the investigating judge of Oristano is scheduled for the next few days.
