The city of Cagliari is ready to renew its vow and dedication to Sant'Efisio. The 2023 edition is a special edition, number 367, in the name of rebirth after the restrictions of recent years due to the pandemic and 80 years after the bombings that destroyed the capital in 1943.

THE NUMBERS – Thousands of visitors are expected and they will come not only from Sardinia. 80 mayors of the island's municipalities will also take part in the procession to bear witness to the thanksgiving of the communities to the martyr of Antioch. 20 the "traccas" , the traditional decorated carts pulled by oxen, with the involvement of 77 folk associations and three thousand extras who will parade each with their own traditional local dress.

There will also be 170 knights and militiamen on horseback from the Archconfraternity and the Italian army in historical uniform. The streets, on the way up to Nora where the simulacrum of the Saint will stop, will be animated by over sixty musicians and will be invaded by thousands of flowers with Sa Ramadura (the floral display of homage to the passage of the chariot).

There are almost 2,100 seats made available in the stands set up by the Municipality in the passageways of the procession, albeit with the limitations due to the work in progress in the centre. For the entire organization, the Municipality will spend 598 thousand euros , of which 122 thousand are dedicated to the national and international promotion of the event.

There is not only May 1st: the events will begin on April 30th at 9 pm in Piazza del Carmine with traditional songs and dances and will end on Thursday May 4th with the torchlight procession which will accompany the return of the simulacrum of Sant'Efisio da Nora.
