Two ambulances recently decommissioned, but still fully functional, have been donated by the Municipality of Sant'Antioco to the municipality of Tyre, Lebanon. The vehicles, already in use by AVAS, the association of volunteers for assistance and rescue, were handed over to the Italian Army and will be transferred to Lebanon aboard a military vessel based in the port of Sulcis. The initiative was born out of solidarity with the community of Tyre, Sant'Antioco's sister city, currently struggling with a severe socioeconomic crisis and the difficulties associated with the ongoing conflict.
"This is the culmination of a long-standing project that has attracted the enthusiastic participation of our Avas," Mayor Ignazio Locci emphasized, thanking the volunteers for their crucial contribution. The two ambulances will thus be able to continue serving the people of Tyre, strengthening the bond of friendship and solidarity between the two communities. Stefano Garau
