San Sperate, a red gerbera for Francesca Deidda: «The confession reopened the wound»
Day Against Violence Against Women: Commemoration of the 42-Year-Old Killed by Her HusbandVideo di Maurizio Pilloni
"A flower for Francesca Deidda". This is the initiative organized today by the Women's Council of the Municipality of San Sperate, in collaboration with the San Sperate section of Fidapa Bpw Italy and the municipal department for Equal Opportunities. A moment that saw the participation of dozens of people, who came on the occasion of the international day against violence against women, and that in light of the confession of Francesca's husband, Igor Sollai, has also become a moment to raise awareness about such a complex issue.
"The confession, which seemed almost obvious in light of what I learned in recent months, has once again created a feeling of dismay, reopening the wound that had seen us as protagonists when the body was found this summer," explained Mayor Fabrizio Madeddu, during one of the moments of reflection. The mayor explained how, in his opinion, it is also up to the community to ensure that episodes of this kind never happen again.
The choice of flower fell on the gerbera, symbol of the fight against violence against women, and is found at the foot of the mulberry tree already planted this summer in the garden of via Ollastu.
Among others, in addition to some members of the Women's Council, Fidapa and the administration, were the lawyer Gianfranco Piscitelli who represents Francesca's brother, Andrea Deidda.
