The area devastated last Saturday by the fire in San Gregorio, below the Sette Fratelli, is being constantly monitored by forest rangers, Azienda Forestas, and volunteers to identify any new dangerous situations. The operation is being coordinated by the Campuomu Forestry Corps. Currently, the situation appears to be under control.

Investigations are also ongoing to identify the arsonists who may have thrown the ignition source from the roadside, at the 25th kilometer mark of the old Orientale Sarda highway, near San Paolo. There is no longer any doubt about the deliberate nature of the fire, which appears to have affected about ten hectares of forest, causing significant environmental damage. Meanwhile, prevention is being urged, including through the creation of an efficient telephone communications network.

The most recent municipal administrations in Burcei have been doing this for some time, and now the mayor of Sinnai, Barbara Pusceddu, and the minority council group, led by Walter Zucca, Aldo Lobina, and Roberto Loi, are reviving the issue. It's also worth noting that, according to operators, landfills have also been identified in the area, which undoubtedly contributed to the fire's devastating effects.
